ALL APRIL SCHOOL HOLIDAY WORKSHOPS HAVE BEEN CANCELLED DUE TO COVID-19.

FULL REFUNDS HAVE BEEN ISSUED.

Holiday workshops are held each school holidays.

Workshops run for 2 hours and include morning or afternoon tea (water, popcorn, fruit and a home baked cookie / cupcake).  Children can stay between the sessions and play in the garden / do self guided art activities during the hour in between (extra $10 charge each break - choose the child with break ticket when booking (for one session only)).  They will need to bring a lunch box with them if they stay over lunch.

All 2 hour sessions are held at the Sunnyside Art House Studio in Bentleigh. 

 

All art materials and art smocks are provided.

All workshops are limited to 10 participants.  Workshops will only run if there are at least 6 participants booked.  If your workshop is cancelled you will be notified and a full refund issued.

Children must be in the age bracket specified.  Children must be attending school (ie I will take 5 yr olds where specified if they have started school).

BOOKINGS FOR APRIL 2020 WORKSHOPS WILL OPEN ON WEDNESDAY 11TH MARCH AT 8.00PM.  All bookings are done through TRY Booking by clicking on the BOOK NOW button under each workshop.  Please note you need to pay for your workshop whilst booking so have your credit card handy.  Refunds will only be given if at least 2 weeks notice is given.  If your workshop is not available you can wait list.

WORKSHOP DETAILS AND DATES

 

 

 

Tuesday 31st March 2020, 9am - 11am

Watercolour Whales. Ages 6 - 12yrs

In this workshop children will learn about Australian artist Michelle Fleur.  Michelle is passionate about animal conservation (especially whales) and paints Australian animals with watercolours.  Children will paint whales in watercolours inspired by Michelle's beautiful work.  If time allows children can also paint other Australian animals inspired by Michelle's work.

$35 per child 

Tuesday 31st March, 12pm - 2pm

JELLYFISH, Ages 6 - 12yrs

In this workshop children will draw and paint watercolour jellyfish.   They will learn how to use masking fluid, salt and alcohol to create watercolour effects.  In the second part of the workshop children will paint paper lanterns and add ribbons, crepes & wool to the bottom to make some 3D jellyfish sculptures.  These will look very pretty hanging up in their bedrooms.

$35 per child 

Tuesday 31st March, 3pm - 5pm

TIE DYE, Ages 6 - 12yrs

Children will Tie Dye a cotton bag and T-shirt (please indicate size when booking).

Note you will need to dry and heat set at home.

Children will also do some tie dye pictures with oil pastels. 

We will finish by making some tie dye slime!

Wednesday 1st April 2020, 9am - 11am

Pete Cromer Australian Animal pictures & mugs, Ages 6 - 12yrs

In this workshop children will learn about Australian Artist Pete Cromer.  They will then produce an artwork of an Australian animal inspired by his artworks.  Children will use paint and paper to produce their artwork.  They will also draw an Australian animal on a mug (with porcelain pens) since Pete's work can be found on mugs, drink bottles and plates.

Wednesday 1st April 2020, 12pm to 2pm

Jen Stark inspired Artworks.  Ages 7 - 12 yrs

In this workshop children will learn about American artist Jen Stark and her amazing psychedelic artworks made out of paper, wood, metal and paint. Children will create paper artworks inspired by her work.   They may also produce drawn and painted artworks inspired by her style.

$35 per child  

 

Wednesday 1st April, 3pm - 4.30pm

RECYCLED ART, AGES 4 - 8 yrs

This workshop is for the environmentally aware child.  First children will make Robot puppets out of recycled paper. These are so cute and they can play with them afterwards.  They will then make robot's out of tin cans.  Bottle caps will be used to make snakes.  Finally they will make CD spinners / mobiles out of old CD's.  There will be lots of old book pages available to draw on if they happen to finish early!  Since this workshop is aimed at younger children there will also be sensory bins set up to play with during break (shaving cream, water beads and kinetic sand).

Thursday 2nd April 2020, 10am- 12pm

UNCONVENTIONAL CANVAS ARTWORKS, AGES 8 - 14 yrs

Using an unconventional canvas such as a bat or tin is so much fun.  Children will paint on bats inspired by the work of artist Sandra Eterovic and do mini tin paintings inspired by artist Heidi Annalise.  Children will be using acrylic paints in this workshop.  If time permits we will also paint on leaves or rocks. Children are also welcome to bring in their own unconventional canvas to draw on such as an old shoe / white shoes, toy or container.
